BAAHSC & Family Bridges Team Up to Deliver Crucial Housing Resources to Older Adults

On May 5, 2025, Bay Area Affordable Housing Service Center (BAAHSC) team up with Family Bridges hosted its very first in-person workshop, following two successful online events. With the generous support and coordination of Family Bridges' Oakland Senior Center, BAAHSC provided an informative session for more than twenty local senior participants.

Since its founding, BAAHSC has been committed to its mission: "Promoting housing justice and building a society where everyone has access to safe and affordable housing." In keeping with this vision, the BAAHSC team drew from common questions and high-interest topics from our past virtual workshops to design a comprehensive and easy-to-follow presentation specifically tailored for seniors.

To ensure accessibility for Cantonese-speaking attendees, BAAHSC arranged for an on-site Cantonese-speaking specialist who guided participants through the housing application process using real-life examples and practical advice. The session not only offered actionable steps but also helped dispel confusion and misinformation that often act as barriers for seniors seeking affordable housing.

BAAHSC was founded to bridge the information gap—bringing timely, accurate, and practical housing resources directly to those who need them most. This in-person workshop marked a new milestone for our organization: removing access barriers by delivering services face-to-face to vulnerable communities.

幸福湾居线下首场研讨会圆满落幕，与家桥驿社携手为长者送上住房资讯盛宴

2025年5月5日，幸福湾居首次将研讨会从线上带到线下！在湾区知名社区组织家桥驿社的大力协助下，我们的团队为二十余位长者带来了一场信息丰富、实用性强的住房主题讲座。

“推动住房正义，建设一个人人都能拥有安全、可负担住房的社会”，这是“幸福湾居”自创立以来始终坚守的愿景。此次线下研讨会，在总结前两场线上活动经验的基础上，围绕受众最关心的申请流程、常见误区和关键准备材料等方面，进行了深入浅出的讲解。

为了更好地服务现场长者，我们特别安排了粤语讲解专员，以丰富的案例和实务经验，细致讲解了如何申请低收入及老人住房、需要准备哪些文件、注意哪些细节等内容，帮助大家理清思路，打消顾虑。

自成立以来，幸福湾居致力于打破信息壁垒，消除误解，将有用、可靠的住房资源及时传递给湾区每一位有需要的朋友。此次活动，不仅拓展了服务形式，更是首次将帮助切实送到最需要人群的面前。
